Specs: Macintosh
I just got a new Macbook and I am very unfamiliar with basic things. I want to know how to save a photo from the internet, the PC equivalent being right click and go to save as, I know this seems basic but I'm new!! Any other tips for a Mac would be appreciated!!

Feel free to check out my How-tos for Mac users! :) I have several tips so far that are specially geared to help out new Mac users--welcome to the Apple world! :) If you want, you can check those out here: Mac How-tos.

To save a photo from Safari, drag the photo to the desktop. The Mac will save it for you. :) You can also bring up a context menu with Ctrl-click, after which you can Save to Desktop. This is the traditional way, but if you hook up a three or two-button USB mouse, you will find that OS X accommodates to it automatically, and that you can normally right-click like you can in Windows. If you need a more Windows-like browser, download and install Firefox for your computer. You can also try Opera, Flock, or even (*highly* not recommended, as MS quit making it for Mac years ago) Internet Explorer for Mac.

To save a photo in general, you can do basic edits (such as in Live Photo Gallery on a PC) and save it in Preview.

If you have any other questions, or this is confusing, feel free to post back! Have fun with your new Mac. :) If this was helpful to you, please say thank you by giving it a thumbs up.
