Solved How to open 64Gb SD memory card in MacBookPro OSX 10.9.5?

Specs: Macintosh
I’ve tried to open 64Gb SD memory card in MacBookPro OSX 10.9.5.
by inserting it in the SD card slot.
Card is used as external storage in Android Galaxy smartphone.
Got message ‘The card not readable in this computer’.
SD Cards with 4 and 6 Gb open without problem and I suspect Mac just can not open 64 Gb SD memory card.

Is there any way to open this 64Gb SD - some program perhaps or any other approach?
Any useful tip is most welcome! Thanks in advance!

Perhaps try an external usb connected card adapter. Simply plug it nto your Mac and nsert card. Usually works.

I've tried external card reader first before posting here - it doesn't work.

Does anyone knows of some specialised program to open this SD?

Thanks for any competent advise !

One thing to try: When you insert the card and get the error message click on 'ignore' out of the choices offered. Then go to 'Spotlight Search' (magnifying glass top right of the desktop) and search for disk utility. Under 'Apple SD Card reader' see if the card is listed and there's a good chance you may find it has no name. If this is the case then right click it and select 'rename', name it whatever you want and then see if the card is now visible in 'Finder'.
