Those who use the Mac Mailbox, can you answer this?

You can't block incoming messages, what would be the point of using the mail program. You can set it to check for messages manually. If you don't want to use it, don't set up an account. And like tryir said, don't log in. Do you use an online email service?

I use Mac systems... As best I know there is no option/setting that simply allows sending mail but not receiving/downloading it.

Which having said... Presumably if you don't enter a valid incoming mail server, but do enter a valid smtp (outgoing mail) server, then you will be able to send but not receive...?

I have another email address with hot mail, but I'm not entirely happy with them. Thought Mac's email system would outshine the others. On hotmail, you can block certain people and this is a real advantage. I gather the Mac Mail is not that popular.

You can block certain emails by creating a "mail rule" within the program. You can set up your hotmail account in mac mail and use it from within the program. You can have multiple accounts in mac mail. I use it all the time and it works great if you learn how to use it. Use the "help" option to learn more about it.

Thank you. I'll try this. With hotmail, it's so easy to block certain email addresses.
