How do i use seagate replica on my mac to inc

Specs: Macintosh OSX, 2 gb ddr sdram
i am running garageband and it stalls indicating insufficient memory so i purchased the seagate replica with 2 terra bytes. what am i doing wrong

Seagate replica is a hard disk, primarily intended for backup purposes. It is not memory according to the usual meaning. It most certainly is not the same as RAM.

Your system may need more RAM or there could be other causes as well.
What are the system specs?
