Solved How do I reboot an apple mac?

Specs: Macintosh
My printer has gone wrong and comes up with 'code 5010'. It has been suggested that rebooting the lap top may help

From the Apple Menu choose "Restart".

Hi Landour, another suggestion which may help:-

Provide the printer's make and model.

Note, rebooting means restarting either warm or cold.

a) warm is restarting without powering down/disconnecting completely
b) cold is better, as you power down and switch off at the mains,
wait 10-15 seconds at least(important for any device), then restart.

Thanks Mike. I am reluctant to try that as the last time the computer was turned off at the mains I had a terrible time getting it to work again (something to do with wireless!) May take the bull by the horns and try it nevertheless.
