Can some one please help remove a virus from my Mac book pro. Every time I open safari all these adds come open in a new window and prevents me from looking anything up. I have read some where that I need to uninstall safari but I don't know how to do do this either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
That behaviour is not caused by a virus infection.
It occurs on all web browsers if you don't take the appropriate action.See this: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH1928...
Also, some ads are caused by "adware" which has somehow installed itself on your Mac. See this for removal instructions for various types of adware: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2...

Install AdBlock 2.33 - for Safari - by Michael Gundlach. There is version for Chrome too. Does the job perfectly...

Download and install this free program to clean out all the crap on your system causing the popups. It's very safe to use.
Uninstall the tool bar which is installed in your computer and reset your browser once. And install tool bar blocker in your computer. follow this link to step by step guide
