Get rid of a Java Script error on a Mac

February 11, 2011 at 08:45:33
Specs: Macintosh OS X 10.6.4
I keep getting this failure code from JavaScript (Ox80570016) especially if I try to open an internet window from my email. At first it would just go away, or not impede opening the site, just slow the whole process down as I repeated the opening from email. Then it crashed Firefox and I am not able to use it because of the presence of the spinning rainbow circle. I recently added a device called downloadhelper that I was offered at some juncture along the way. Sadly I am one step up from computer illiteracy and have opened myself up to something horrible. Possibly download helper is for a pc? I don't need it and now I can't find a way to even delete the program. I seem to be getting more junk mail as well. What have I done? How can I remedy this situation?

Thank you so much for your input. I just ran the update but I will take your recommendations and try to remove the DownloadHelper. Thank you for not being an ass like Wanamingo and actually helping me. I bow to your higher knowledge and hope you have a nice day.
