file has changed into unix exec file

i recently transferred pictures from my camera SD card to my mac. I was using the pics and editing them. just after 5 minutes when i reconnected my hard drive to view pics, the file had changed into a uix exec file and wont open =( I have tried so many suggested solutions but nothing works. PLEASE HELP

Can you explan a little more clearly the situation, specifically:

You say the pics were copied to your Mac, then edited - using Mac software?

You say you reconnected the hard drive to view the (presumably) edited pics they are now unix format?

Do you mean you saved the editd pics to the SD card from the camera; or to another hard drive?

Also are the original unedited pics still on the SD Card?

Mac software is effectively a modified version of unix. There are free and paid for utilities which enable non Mac systems to read Mac files. It is highly unlikely your camera could us it however... You will need to access and convert/save the unix format pics to another format which the camera likes, e.g. jpeg or whatever else the camera specs indicate?

What make/model is your camera?

Also are original pics still on the Mac in their original format?

And what editing software did you use to edit them?

Can you still view the edited pcs on the Mac?
