no emac display, no startup chime, although appears to start up when powered on. Problems started after replacing internal battery because of date, time problems. Now trying to hook external monitor through the mini VGA port . . . everything seems ok but monitor not responding.
Please start by doing a through reset of the parameter RAM. To do this, hold down the Cmd+Opt+P+R keys (that is, Command, Option, P, and R) as soon as you hear the eMac chime. Keep holding these keys until you count four chimes. See if the monitor lights up. Otherwise, you may need to have your eMac serviced. Contact an Apple certified technician to replace parts as needed.
