DEVICE REMOVAL Keeps popping on my Mac\

Specs: MMacintosh OS X 10.4.11 , 1.25 CHz
I keep getting "Device Removal" every 10 seconds on my desktop and can't get it to quit. How can I get rid of this pesty message? Running PowerMac Gw w/sys OS X 10.4.11 Here is the message:
The device you removed was not properly put away. Data might have been lost or damaged. Before you unplug your device, you must first select its icon in the Finder and choose Eject from the File menu.

Are you plugging the device into a USB port on your keyboard, or into the back of the computer. I've seen this on keyboards that seem not to provide the proper 2.0 support and the device "reads"/flashes indefinitely.
