copy CD's; always "error"

Specs: Macintosh , 2 duo 2.26 Ghz/ 2GB
When I follow instructions how to copy music onto a CD, whether copying a CD or taking music from my MAC to a CD, there is ALWAYS an error message that something is wrong with the disk. I don't believe 8 brand new Memorex disks could be bad. I just keep throwing them out, but can't afford to even try any longer. Assuming now it's the MAC.

It might be your Mac drive, but I also believe it could be the Memorex discs.

I stopped buying Memorex a long time ago. They are the cheapest discs and you can buy them at Wal-Mart, but I once had a CD-R (not rewritable) mysteriously show up totally blank after going through airport security. WTH? I might be nuts, but they also seem to actually feel flimsier (very flexible bending) than the other discs I have used. From that point on, I will never buy them again.

I've also had problems with some of the Sony discs not being compatible with some drives (lots of burning errors and failures). I've never changed the burning device so it must be the discs. From now on I buy only TDK, or RadioShack's GigaWare if they have a good sale (I bought a 50 pack of DVD-R for $10). In the last year that I have used them, they have been compatible with all the computers I've used them on.
