Solved Conversion: Thunderbird Windows to Mac

Specs: MacOS 11.0
Does anyone have experience moving Thunderbird files from Windows 10 to Mac? I'm just buying a MacBook Pro. I've read some nasty comments about difficulties/impossibilities.

Ok. Sounds reasonable or rather doable! My MacBook Pro won't arrive until Jan 1 but I'm pretty certain that this will be my greatest problem thus I wanted to get ahead of the game.
Thanks, Johnw as well as the rest of the folks on that thread.

If you're mostly concerned about preserving already downloaded/read incoming emails on the new MacBook (and velkum to the werld of Mac...) simply install T-bird on your Mac and setup the client account(s) there for your existing email account(s) as appropriate. Anything in your inbox(es) will automatically be download to the new Mac client(s).

Also be aware of the default settings for T-bird with regard to how long contents can remain on the Mac; the defaults are to delete stuff after a very short time... But I suspect you already know about that as likely it applies to T-Bird on Windows too?

I use pop3 for all accounts; and set my T-bird never to delete anything - unless I do it manually. Pop3 allows emails to remain the web server(s) regardless of what I may do on the client account systems.
