can't reprogram Dlink with Mac

February 28, 2011 at 14:12:47
Specs: Macintosh
Had a friend over who taped into my Dlink to use her PC. I have a Mac. Her computer stole my router. Now I can't get it back because Dlink help says since I can't see the code #s on there page I need to get another PC here to my place in order for them to pull it up. Evidently only PC's can see there codes to sign in. Don't ask me how I got my mac programed into it the first time. Guess I couldn't see the codes then either. LOL All I know is it's very frustrating!! Not my fraught they didn't design there routers to let Mac's see there codes. Does anyone have any suggestions. Don't know of anyone with a Lap top PC that is close to me.

Poppycock, reset the Router to Default, back of Router.

Connect to Mac with Ethernet Cable, find the gateway address, I believe it is 192.168.1.1 ?

Whatever the address is type it into Safari's URL Bar and hit ENTER

This is obviously if you have OS X and Safari installed, all the specs state is Macintosh, Apple have been making Macintoshes for 30 years of varying models....

God Bless you I got my router back. :) It's nice to finely talk to someone who is honest and actually knows what there doing. I even called Apple and all he could suggest was that I should buy an Apple router. LOL
