Autocad/MAC OS/10.6 plotter issue

April 13, 2011 at 10:42:38
Specs: MAC OS 10.6
Have AutoCAD MAC version 2011. It will not communicate with our plotter. We have installed the correct driver for our HP DesignJet 500 42+. We are able to print/plot files from other software. Only AutoCAD files receive the error and freeze up the MAC. There's no place we can find in AutoCAD that will enable us to configure the printer. Anybody have any ideas?

Welcome to Computing.net! I understand Apple products, but I'm not so familiar with CAD. You may need to wait for a CAD expert.

From the OS X side, I can tell you that as a minor substitute, you could open Grab from the Utilities folder, or use Cmd+Opt+Shift+4 and take a screenshot. From there, open the file on your desktop in Preview, and print it however you want.

Again, I apologize I have not been the best of assistance in the CAD area. Thank you for allowing me to assist you--please let me know how this works out for you. :)

We did find out that our AutoCAD had not updated to 1.1 or 2. Once we got it updated it started working. AutoCAD for MAC has sooo many bugs in it due to being new.
