Wireless lan driver not active

Hi I recently installed ubuntu linux 9.10 in my HP Compaq nx7300 laptop. Intel Core 2duo Processor, 1 GB RAM. Every thing working good, except Wireless lan. I configured my network connection. but my wireless LAN is shown disabled only. I tried to ON the physical Wireless LAN switch present in my laptop. but it is not getting ON. i searched for drivers in ubuntu linux site & HP site but not got any thing I'm very new to Linux Can anybody help me in this reagrd Thanks Ajay Ajay
