I have a ancient PIII with an AMI bios 62710 dated May 2001 that I would like to update to the most current. Where do I find the bios update and how do I reflash the eprom in Ubuntu 10.04.

1. We need to know the exact motherboard or system (if it's a manufactured system like Dell, hp, etc.) A "motherboard string" will also work.

2. You will not flash a BIOS from Ubuntu or any other OS. You will, normally, boot from a bootable floppy disk and then flash the BIOS. Many of us here use the "2 floppy disk" method with a Me start up floppy on one disk and the correct BIOS version and utility on the second floppy disk.
