Is oracle a real user?

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

Your question is not clear. Is it:

1. You are logged on as root and when you do "su oracle" you get the error, or

2. You are logged on as oracle and when you do "su" you get the error?

1. should not happen, but 2. is possible. It would, of course, help to know which version of Linux and which version of Oracle you are using. And why do you need to su in any case?
