String concatenation in shell scripting

December 21, 2010 at 23:33:18
Specs: Linux x86_64
I want to write similar to strcat in shellscripting

Example output string = Hai this is my string.

Data values will be added to the "string" variable based on a condition.

For example in the first iteration "string" would contain no data
then based on a condition "Hai" will be added to it.

In the next iteration if the condition satisfies "this" will be added,
but "string" should contain "Hai" as well,

so the end output should be "Hai this is my string"

could anybody please help me!
Thanks
