Squid service fail to start in Redhat EL5

Specs: RedHat Ent.Linux 5, DC 3.0/ 1GB RAM
Dear All,
I have installed squid 3.0 on RHEL5 , Installation could not show any error, But after installation when I have tried to start squid service the error shows that's detail below:

init_cache_dir /var/spool/squid... /etc/init.d/squid: line 54: 3172 Aborted $SQUID -z -F -D >>/var/log/squid/squid.out 2>&1
Starting squid: /etc/init.d/squid: line 53: 3173 Aborted $SQUID $SQUID_OPTS >>/var/log/squid/squid.out 2>&1
[FAILED]
[root@linuxproxy ~]#

Kindly help anyone or more.

You first have to create the cache directory. This will be done by:
squid -z

After that, you can start squid by:
rcsquid start
