Specs: Win10/Linux Mint 19.3, AMD Ryzen 3 1200/8GB
How to re-install Linux Mint in dual boot with windows. The Win 10 is located on one hard disk drive and Linux Mint on another hard disk drive. I would like to keep my Win 10, but my Linux Mint has so many problems ( missing simple scan, etc), that I want to have a clean new Linux Mint.

Is removing the hard disk drive with Win 10 from the PC and then just install Linux Mint on the remaining hard disk drive that had the old Linux Mint on it ?

as in on hard disk with different partitions on two separate hard disks?

if we are dealing with one hard disk and different partitions , start the installation process but use manual selection of disk and pick the right partition(were the obsolete mint is installed) .From there the it will format the partition and install Mint. Once it has finished open the terminal and update grub and you shall be good to go.

✔ Best Answer
Certainly - to be safe for win-10... if that's on one separate physical HDD and Linux is on another separate HDD... disconnect the win-10 drive during the rebuild of the Linux system on its own HDD.
