Does someone know about portable ubuntu, like which version works for windows xp, I went to the website and there are like 12 versions of it and it doesn't say which one to download, and I don't want to waste time downloading all of them, It may be the Win32 Version but I don't know, I downloaded the first one here

but that one doesn't work cygwin has an error and won't start. Then that is another thing do I need to have Cygwin, Colinux or something in order to run it.

That distro is rather confusing. It is based on co-linux. A novel idea and should have more following. It is kind of like how most people use a virtual machine. I'd consider installing VMplayer3 or Virtualbox or Virtualpc instead and then use the standard ubuntu.

If you want portable then start at pendrivelinux.com for many how-to's on making a flash drive bootable linux.

"there are like 12 versions of it and it doesn't say which one to download"

There are 4 versions, not 12. And they are numbered in Spanish.

version 1 = UNO
version 2 = DOS
- - there's a DOS Lite release 2
- - and there's a DOS release 4
version 3 = TRES

I would think you'd want the latest version available, so you should be downloading version TRES:

Version TRES

version 3 = TRES that is the one I downloaded and it doesn't work in XP, there are 12 files that can be downloaded I think I will try the bottom one TAP-Win32 Adapter V8 (coLinux) or get colinux first then try this again, or regular ubuntu with virtual pc that I already have installed. Thanks for the help, I think I got it now, best regards.
