hai,
i am enteing password at time su coomand

user@localhost ~]$ su
Password:
su: password authentication fail


my system is showing like above

password authentication fail

how can i enter in root

please solve.

If you are a sudo member then you can try sudo passwd.

That should allow you to put in a root password if it was empty.

You may be able to use sudo instead of su for all tasks anyway. Usually you have to put in your password and not su 's password,
