Specs: Ubuntustudio 12.04, 3.2 dual core/8gb
Hi i am trying to sort out which hard drive listed in gparted is the one i want to format. I have two internally and one i have attached via cables. Sata to usb 2 cable. So there is dev/sda which is the primary drive or master and sdb(is that the internal slave drive?) then sdd. Both the slave and the plugged in via usb drives are 2tb so its hard to tell. I am not used this many drives plugged in at once and cant remember what the drive letter should be or was. I only put the 2nd internal drive in a couple of weeks ago

Disconnect all drives except the one you want to format.

Agreed. Why take chances? Are you replacing the outdated version of Ubuntu?
