Hello everybody. I'm new, absolutely new, to Ubuntu and watching tutorials about it and getting the hang of it. It's now two months and I'm starting to worry about the hard drive. Do I need to defrag the disk? I'm using btrfs file system. The performance does not seem to be sluggish anyway.

Defragmentation is not normally considered to be necessary for Linux file systems. But it can be done on btrfs if you think it necessary see the section "Defragmentation" in this link for details: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.ph...

Personally, I wouldn't bother.
