Solved Naming and saving notepad, Upd. mngr. can't detect ntwrk con

Specs: Linux i686 Ubuntu 10.04 LTS The Lucid Lynx
I don't know how to save notepad document I created and it won't save it, give me all the instructions how to save and name the notepad document. Also I'm Having update manager problems, when it starts it gathers the package then after an error message says it can't detect the network connection but it is active and connected. the system has multiple problems that are making my system unstable. please help ! Failed to fetch http://hacktolive.org/repo/lucid/po... 404 Not Found.

Linux distributions are less user friendly than Windows, you need to be technically proficient to use it. It's main attraction is that it's free, but when you need help with it there is less help available.

Many newer distros have deliberately been designed to be more user-friendly & Windows-like. IMO, Ubuntu is not one of them. Also, 10.04 LTS has reached it's end of life & is no longer supported. It's time to move on to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS or one of the more user-friendly distros that are based on it.
