Log out/Shutdown confirmation

I'm running Ubuntu 10.10. How do I GET RID OF the confirmation dialog when I shut down, restart, etc.

I know it's there somewhere, I've run across it before. However I've had a severe stroke 2-1/2 years ago, and I can't find it anymore.

Any help/answers would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried every suggestion/configuration posted in that link. The configuration is enabled etc, I still get the Logout/Shutdown prompt.

I've restarted the machine between steps outlined.

As I stated, with the stroke maybe I'm missing something. I basically need step by step, detailed instructions.

EDIT: I found step by step instructions through a Google search. http://www.liberiangeek.net/2010/09...

Thanks for your attempts.
