Linux is not opening my downloaded files!

Specs: Linux i686
Linux is not opening whatever i download!

whatever i download i always get this error message when i try to open it.

We don't have enough to go on. What are you trying to download and what are you trying to open it with? What distro do you have. Do you know much about linux?

Hang up and live.

the anti-virus speedypro, and the error is below.

Linux, by nature, isn't designed to natively open executables (.exe files). It may be able to under Wine, but that still wouldn't work too well for a virus-scanner. It's a "packaged-based" OS which has to unpack downloads (similar to unzipping) for them to work. Most distros are capable of handling .tar, .tar.gz or .zip:
