large jpegs are cropped after download

I'm using a variant of Ubuntu, and Chromium browser. When I download a large jpegs (typically 2000 x 3000 pixels), the resulting image is cropped to only a portion of its original content. What is the reason for this, and how does one correct?
Thanks.

How did you figure out, that it's cropped to a portion of the original content?

"How did you figure out, that it's cropped to a portion of the original content?" -- By viewing the downloaded image.

Most Image Viewer will show pictures in a smaller size, if the original photo is too large, to fit the screen. Have you checked that.

Let me describe it another way. As a result of attempting to download a large JPEG (2000 x 3000 pixels), the resulting download contains only a portion of the original JPEG. In other words, the large JPEG somehow got cropped.

Did you verify the original file size with the downloaded file size?
Does it differ.
