Is folder hidden in Win XP shown in Linux ?

Microsoft Windows 7 home premium

Specs: windows xp service p, 1GB
Dear sir
I did hide my a important folder with folder xp really it was very good and one of my friend told me that if my hard drive plug to Linux Operating system it will show all the hidden folder in xp including my folder which I hide I was so confused any body know about this please suggest me ?

Anyone with physical access to a system can in almost all cases get the data.

Hidden is of no value to any security task.

Yes. But that would be an extremely long path to doing something that can usually be fixed in less then 5 seconds.

1. From any folder, go to the Tools menu and select Folder Options
2. In the Folder Options dialog box, click the View tab
3. Scroll down the list and select Show hidden files and folders
4. Click Apply and then Ok. Your folder should now be visible.

Linux doesn't care about how Microsoft "hides" folders.

Linux will be able to view the files unless they have been encrypted.
