Quickest answer is try another keyboard. Seriously, buy from best buy or staples and return it when your done.

I've got a Logitech wireless keyboard. Works just fine with Fedora and Mandriva. I've no doubt it would work with Ubuntu too. As far as the computer is concerned it's just a USB keyboard.

...saying that ^^^ USB keyboards can be a problem. With a "normal" wired USB wired keyboard, let alone a wireless keyboard, you need to check the BIOS for starting USB

A PS/2 keyboard would solve all your problems

I deleted the other post as it was basically the same as this.

I agree that you simply get a keyboard and mouse to load it then switch. It may or may not work. I can't say where in the process it is failing either.

When you boot to a live cd what happens.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

IMO, the disadvatanges outweigh advantages to running a wireless mouse/keyboard. Do you really have a need to go wireless? Other than not having exposed wires at your computer desk, what have you actually gained? Do you sit on the opposite side of the room from where the tower is located? Hardwired is almost always the better choice.

Lack of wires is a big advantage for me; particularly with the mouse. It just makes it free and easy to use; and it has no drawbacks (works fine with Windows and Linux). It's just a USB keyboard that doesn't happen to have any wires to get snagged on anything.

And when I want to use my Mac (with wired keyboard and mouse) I can easily move the PC keyboard and mouse out of the way.

Does the system install and then find the wireless keyboard?
