Solved Installation or update of LibreOffice problem in LinuxMint

July 29, 2019 at 09:07:08
Specs: Linux Mint 19.1, AMD Ryzen 3 1200/8GB
As a security leak has been found by Nils Emmerich in the older LibreOffice version that you get with Linux Mint 19.1, I deleted all of LibreOffice.

Have been busy trying without success to install the latest version of LibreOffice in Linux Mint all day using the instructions supplied by LibreOffice. Am not well versed on how to use the Terminal

Downloaded the file: /home/willem/Downloads/LibreOffice_6.2.5_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz.
Right clicked the file and chose "Extract here" and ran, as instructed in the terminal ":
cd ~/Downloads/LibreOffice_6.2.x_Linux_x86_deb/DEBS.
Result: "No such file or directory".

I cannot find another better instruction, so I turn to CN for help. Thanks in advance

Did you try Software Manager?

Finally, I found the solution, which can also be used to install programs / updates that cannot be installed by updates manager or software manager.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:PROGRAM NAME/ppa
in my case: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa
sudo apt update
sudo apt install libreoffice

Thank you all for your help
