I have created a leka rescue floppy disk, and that works fine, but how do I install leka onto the hard drive from the rescue disk?

There may be a number of ways. Without an actual installer application it may be a bit tricky. Why would you want to install a 1.44 mb OS to a hard drive anyway?

Steps may be something like this. Create a partition and maybe a swap file space ( I doubt you'd need it). Format it in a format supported by leka, Install a bootloader such as grub, lilo, syslinux or isolinux. Copy data to the partition.

I just figured out that leka isn't very compatible with the things I need to do. Do any of you know of a linux that installs through floppy, has a gui, internet support, and usb support? My laptop has almost all but a cd-rom and ethernet (I have to use an adaptor). I have a usb cd-rom drive, but my laptop is too old to boot from usb.

Might look at puppy linux. They have a floppy (as well as many other distros) that can "teach" the computer enough to boot to the cd.

Might look also at bko and netboot.me for gpxe boots and installs.

i just tried to install puppy linux, and found out in the process of installing, that my hard drive is only 6247mb, which is hardly enough to do anything nowaday. So I installed Blueflops, it's great, but it's still just a basic linux. It supports usb, so I'm trying to install a real linux on my external hd, but it gives me the following:
Warning: could not zero block 77971184 at end of filesystem
Writing inode tables: 16/2380
Could not write 8 blocks in inode table starting at 524290.

It stops after the last line. I'm going to open a new discussion, 'cause I have a feeling that this is going to take forever as blueflops is oriented more towards internet browsing (with a pluggin that turns the regular links (lynx) ascii browser into a graphical browser) as opposed to developement, which is what I'm really after. How can this be fixed?
