I wish to connect fedora 13 to net in konsole

April 8, 2010 at 13:22:45
Specs: Windows 7/Linux Fedora 13 A
I wish to connect to net via konsole, because
my nvidia drive isn't working at all at first
installation, and, despite my previous attempts
of reinstalling the old driver, I get errors all over
on my beautiful black screen.
I have connected at my account via
alt+ctrl+F2/F3 etc, and accessed my root
account.
still I cannot close X server (init 3), hence
cannot install nVidia driver, cannot access the
graphical interface, which is more or less
upsetting!

please help!

I am not a beginner, but not far from that.
using Linux just since 2007.
learning more or less on the way.

thank you!

Why are you running an Alpha? If Fedora is what you want, you should be running version 12.

What happens when you try sudo telinit 3
?

Thank you for you answers!

1. Alpha 13 because I don't like the 12 version of Fedora.

2. Nothing different from init 3 init 5 (sudo implied, of course).
It is an error of conecting to fedora graph driver, and of loading
the nvidia driver from the Fedora raw installation. That's way I
need the connection to the net. To update my nvidia driver.

But it seems more than one error.
I think I shall wait for the final version F13.
Or maybe to return to F12...
I don't know!

Thank you again!
It seems that I am stuck!
