How to update ant in Linux

April 7, 2011 at 20:28:45
Specs: Linux , Intel
Red Hat Enterprise server 5 installed on my m/c with inbuilt ant 1.6.5.
I have extracted zip for ant 1.7 and placed at /opt/ant. I have set ANT_HOME=/opt/ant
and PATH=$(PATH):$(ANT_HOME)/bin.
But still I am getting 1.6.5 version when I am looking ant version using following command
ant -version

What does your PATH environment variable now read when expanded? And where is the ant binary for 1.6.5 located?
