Specs: Windows 10, 8GB
hey guys,
So i have a new laptop and want to install kali linux for learning ethical hacking and related courses ,
the courses i have been registered to , they use vmware.
I dont really want to use that vmware, instead want to make my dell laptop a dual boot .
i have done this i my old laptop(Asus) but that was cool as it was pretty old when i started dual booting on that device.
my problem here is its been a really long time and also i fear that while dual booting my new laptop ,i may not do some steps which arent supposed to be done and hence bricking my laptop.
i remember falling into some problem when i wanted to shift from kali linux back to complete windows ... some settings for mbr had to be made//changed . so dont really want to risk it.

i would really like some advice and steps on how to make my pcdual boot , my current versions run windows 10 and 2tb harddrive.

Perhaps, at least to start with, why not run it from the dvd? It will install into RAM only - unless you elect to install it to the hard drive, in which case take a few precautions first.

Duplicate all your personal files to external media, verifying the copies are truly accessible, before you actually set about creating a dual boot.

And make a recovery disk for your present win-10 installation; just in-case it might be needed...

Okay and any heads up for the disk partition problems that I might have to face during installation?
Like Linux requires some other type of format and windows requires something else right??
