how do I get my sound working?

I'm running Ubuntu 16.04 via Crouton (I'm on a Chromebook)

here is the output for lshw -c sound
https://pastebin.com/ZyT6rmg5

I believe the issue is that I have two chipsets installed and need to enable a different one but I'm not sure how I do this.

Thank you.

edit: I just tested my headphones and the sound works with them. still not getting any sound otherwise.

✔ Best Answer
Did you run as sudo?

Doing the best I can here... And remember, there's always more than one path to success. :)

Solved.

found out that my sound was muted in ChromeOS, and they both share a kernel, so it was muted in Ubuntu
