Hi,
How to I add a Untrusted Source to the Software Sources list? Im trying to get apps off Ubuntu Software Center. So all sources should be ok? But nothing will install?

A default install ought to let admin install apps. Unless you did something to deny that, I'd think that maybe some firewall or proxy setting is more to blame. That doesn't explain the error however. The error suggests that you have some difference between the installed sources and how this software manager is getting data.

I guess some upgraded OS may do that. How did you install this OS?

Hi Jetho,
Its strange because I can download and install off the net no worries, but get the error warning when installing with the Ubuntu Software Center.
I'm pretty sure its not the firewall and no proxy's are active.
I burned the Ubuntu Lucid 10.04lts iso from the Ubuntu website then installed over Windowsxp.

I actually meant linux over linux type of upgrade.

I guess there may be some software there like Opera that may call that error. What software are you trying to install?

It was when trying to install anything? But as of this afternoon Ubuntu Software Center is now allowing the downloads? I have changed nothing? Maybe a problem with the Ubuntu download server?

Millions of people use that so I can't think it would be that. I guess it is possible that some rogue site took over your isp or local system and tried to hack into this. I really can't guess what could have happened.
