generate tag file in HP unix. ctags linux

Hi, i wanna use ctags to create tags file which would make code browsing simpler in my project. could some one help me out with this. i tried to search the existing forums, however couldnt find much help in this regard. any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks, it helped, however is the command same for HP UX, AIX and for other different flavours of unix? Also it would be useful for me if you could lemme know how the same result of ctags can be attained in windows.

I do not know how portable ctags is. I have not heard that it isn't, and ctags has been around a long time.

I do not think that Microsoft provides a native ctags command. A company called Exuberant provides a ctags version for Linux and Windows. It's available here:

http://ctags.sourceforge.net/

Sorry, I have know experience with it.
