Hi i am installing Ubuntustudio on a machine i dont know the specs of except there is 8gb of ram and the MB is Gigabyte GA-H55M-D2H. It is a gaming machine i got from my uncle and the install process doesn't seem to be going well . It repeatedly gives me the two things in the photos. Its too quick to do the report thing. Disappears quickly. Its been over an hour now as well. Not sure what to do to solve this. I didnt do the LIVE thing as i was frustrated with another hard drive i was trying to install on with a different version or older version of ubuntustudio

" I think i was told i installed a 32 bit version and should have installed the 64 bit version."

The GA-H55M-D2H is a MoBo supporting 64-bit CPU's:

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboar...

Thus you should install the 64-bit version of Ubuntu Studio

What's on the HDD now? Try a live session. Boot off the disc & see if it load & run without being installed. Also, have a look at this: https://itsfoss.com/how-to-fix-syst...

Not much on the drive. I think some files that i had from ages ago which i have transferred to my laptop. I tried livedvd last night but there was some error at the end of it. It didnt install. Sorry was way past bed time and dropping so have no memory of what it was. Now i am trying the 'check disc' or whatever its called. Taking a very long time. I am not sure that link is relevent as i havent installed ubuntu. Its not allowing it....so cant do what the link suggests
