Specs: ubuntu9.4, pentium III 500mg 1/2 ghz ram
Hi.
I have an old 500+ meg p3 pc.
I recently installed ubuntu 9.4 from a cd.
I'm having trouble updating and get an error message
"failed to download all repository indexes".
and a scroll with several "failed to fetch" items listed
and nothing downloads.
Am I missing something?
s:)

End of life date for that release was October 23, 2010. It may be advisable to upgrade to a supported release or go for a different distribution.

You would be better off running Puppy Linux it is created for older hardware, all newer mainstream distro's usually recommend 1GHZ CPU and 1GB Memory.

I would recommend you use the Lucid Puppy version:

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....
