Specs: linux
Trying to copy off my USB hard drive onto the main hard drive.

using the following command:
cp -r /home/0common/WD/ToBackup/ /home/

it begins copying and then spits out a lot of cp: cannot stat /some/directory/someFile no such file or directory errors. and doenst copy but a few files/folders.

seems like I can go and copy the files it references manually just fine.

whats going on here?

Are you trying to copy these files to the users home directory, while this user is logged in to the system and has possibly started the GUI of Linux?
In that case, the files are possibly in use and for that reason, can't be copied.
