Connected to Wireless Network, no Internet

Specs: Ubuntu, p4 3GHZ
im connected to an unsecured wireless network, for which my mac addresses are in the access list for so i have automatic access to the network.. im running ubuntu, and when i click networks in the GUI all seems to be working fine, until i try and access the internet, however, from the same computer, another installation for my windows xp is on.. when i connect to the network from windows im connected and can use the internet instantly, any clues please? im really stuck.

Some problem with dns I'd guess.


sudo nslookup www.google.com would help to see what is going on with dns resolve.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
