Specs: Windows 7
I would like to run linux on my windows 7 pc via vmware. However I can't seem to find a working link to get the os.zip file required for it to run. All the tutorials I have found have broken links to the file. Can anyone point me to a working version of os.zip ? thanks

Pick the Linux distribution of your choice (Ubuntu is a popular choice), go to their web site, and download a CD image. There is no universal Linux os.zip.

✔ Best Answer
Mint (which is based on Ubuntu) is much more user friendly that Ubuntu. Zorin OS is also an interesting distro. Have a look here:

Install VMware then download Mint 14 (easy and the best of the bunch). Use VMWare to install in the normal way and you'll be up and running.

I decided in the end to install Zorin OS on a dual boot system.
