Specs: Linux i686, i7/4gb
Can I install any distribution of Linux on an hp 2740p laptop/tablet pc with Windows 7 pre installed on a 160 GB SATA dynamic disk.

I've seen a few workarounds mentioned but unless you're really clever about this sort of thing I'd say the simple answer is "No". If you try then you are likely to screw up your Windows installation. What about installing VirtualBox and setting up Linux in a Virtual Machine? It performs very well this way, and it's a much safer option.

I'd use a virtual machine. You could use both at the same time and not bork your W7 install.

But yes, sort of, almost any distro "could" be installed if you know enough. Since you ask then I'd say don't try it.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
