Can you simply change your charging wire for a phone into an internet cable? I'm thinking of a way where you can simply wire an 8 cable straight-through cable with an RJ-45 plug in on one side, and (for example) an iPhone 4 charger on the other. You would probably need some kind of conversion kit that you could make or order. But if it's impossible, then what's keeping up from making this? If you have multiple users on a wifi network, the traffic on the network will slow it down (I experience this at school). Wouldn't it be faster to get wired internet connection to your phone?

Having multiple users on the same network will slow it down whether it's wired or wireless so I don't follow your your logic there.

As for connecting a phone to the network by wire instead of wireless you're forgetting one major reason why that won't work - - a phone doesn't have the required internal hardware (a LAN card) to handle a wired connection. The actual cable or wire won't magically do that on it's own.
