Solved Will resetting ipad erase new iOS update?

Specs: iPad
I want to reset my ipad because it's messy, but mainly because it won't update without me changing apps usage. But I've done everything, even bought more storage and it still won't update. But, I'm worried I might delete the iOS update I have waiting.

The latest update requires a lot of space on your device in order to download the update files. A lot of people have had issues with this and have had to restort to deleting photos, apps and other things.

My advice simply connect to a pc and iTunes and update from there. This was you will not need to delete anything as the download will be downloaded to your pc.

If that is not an option and you have to reset, then i believe your download will get deleted as resetting usually takes your device back to factory (bar the OS).

Whichever method you use... First ensure you safely backed up sync'd, saved all your important stuff on the ipad as is to a suitable computer... Safer than sorrier...

Buying more storage buys you online cloud storage, it does not increase the storage on your iPad.

I would seriously hold off on updating the operating system. Even iOS 8.0.2 has major flaws and is causing many people headaches. Apple announced it will release 8.1 in a few weeks, I strongly suggest you wait for that upgrade.

I think waiting would be the smartest option by far, I don't think I can wait any longer. It's driving me crazy trying to figure out what I can do to update, or at least lessen my storage app.

I'm still running 7.1.1 on my iPad, even 7.1.2 caused big problems. Seems like Apple has been plagued with problems in their resent operating systems. Hopefully they will get it right in 8.1
