At what point does it say that? Are you trying to connect to a home router? Has it ever worked?

You wont get an ip address unless you connect to a router that has a DHCP server to assign your iPad an ip address.

Ok, in your previous post you said you weren't connecting to a router and in your last post you said you tried. Why don't you explain exactly what you are doing or attempting. Are you trying to connect to a router and having problems with it or???

Ok, press the settings icon, and click on General. Press on the Network option, then press Wi-Fi. It should present you with the router you are attached to, it will have a checkmark next to it. Press the little blue circle with the arrow in it over on the right and it will display all your network info, including your IP address. If you are not picking up an IP address from the router, make sure you have the DHCP option selected. If you still aren't picking up an IP address make sure you have DHCP turned on in your router.
