Specs: Windows XP, 1000
I was selling my Ipad and erased all my data and settings. Then the buyer pulled out. Now, when I switch on I get through the first 2 steps i.e. language and country. Step 3 require u connect to a network and this is my problem. I'm asked to enter a password and whatever pasword I thought I had, including the definate correct one I get a window that states: UNABLE TO JOIN THE NETWORK then the name. Then : DISMISS. This is where I'm stuck. My Ipad is the gen. 3 with 16gig storage. I don't know what other info is required. But I need help.

Hi Mikelinus. Thanks for your response. Do you mean with another computer or what? As I said the Ipad is stuck on this password. Without it you can't go further.

This is what I have tried without success. I switched off the Ipad and disconnected the cable on the Ipad's side. I then pressed and hold the sleep button and reconnected the cable. The wi-fi page appeared and I selected: Connect to Itunes. Then I was given a choice that said: Continue without wi-fi? I selected both "Continue" and "use wi-fi" but nothing happened. When I chose with wi-fi nothing happened. With "continue without wi-fi " the following appeared. A connector socket pointing up towards the Itune sign. There also nothing further happened. I must add my only way of connecting to the internet is via a router. I don't have the simcard chip to connect directly to the internet via satellite. And this is where I am right now.

It's asking for the security key password on your WiFi router. Since you bypassed that and you now have the connection icon showing, you now need to plug it into a computer running iTunes and set it up that way.

I managed to get my Ipad restored by using the recovery tool. But I cannot get wi-fi going as it is asking for a password again. See my other posting on this issue.
