Hey all,

I just recently acquired a second generation 8GB iPod Touch and all is well, except that the headphones I have to use have really crappy audio quality. (Yes, it's the headphones, not the music.) I was wondering if I might be able to use the new USB gaming headset that I'm planning on getting on my iPod via some sort of adapter. (As just headphones, with the mic detached I mean.)

I found a few USB to 3.5mm adapters on eBay for cheap, but something tells me it won't be so easy. Also, people have said that using the Camera Connection Kit to use USB devices on iPad works, but apparently it won't work for anything that isn't an iPad.

The headset in question is as follows;

Is there some sort of USB converter that goes from standard USB to the Apple 30-pin connector on the bottom? Or some sort of USB to 3.5mm adapter that will work?

Also, I'm not really sure if I'm allowed to say this here or not, but my iPod is jailbroken at 4.2.1 if there is some sort of modding software I need to download.

Thanks in advance,

Comguy

I'm pretty sure this can't be done. And if it could, the cost of an adapter would probably be more than a decent set of headphones. (And a gaming set is not really that handy when you are out and about.)

Why not just buy some decent headphones - they aren't that expensive.

@ijack

Thanks for the quick reply,

I didn't really think there would be a way, but I suppose it was worth a try, huh? I'll keep an eye out and see if I can score a set of good quality headphones, and leave my gaming set strictly for gaming.

Thanks,
