Two things... Immediately delete your email address here; otherwise you "will" be spammed at least - possibly worse...

Secondly - Presumably the vendor advised it was an AT&T item and thus locked? If not... suggest you contact vendor and ask for the way to do it; or - and perhaps wiser - contact eBay and request help for a refund?

You have an Asus tablet, not an iPad. iPads are made by Apple.

Also, iPads are not locked to a carrier the way phones are, I'm not sure about Asus tablets but I would venture to say it's the same thing. You should be able to swap the SIM card with one from your carrier. Do you have an active account with a carrier and if so have you put their SIM card in your tablet?

There may also be an issue with the type of cell service your Asus tablet can use. There are two types, CDMA and GSM. In the United States, two of the four major carriers (Verizon and Sprint) use CDMA while the other two (AT&T and T-Mobile) use GSM. It will depend if your carrier uses GSM since you said it was connected to AT&T or if your tablet can use both types of signals.
